He said that we have 2 kinds of cultures:
- fine meshed
- coarse meshed
And you can say that it is + - the same as high and low culture context.
On this behave he had maked a 3 step method for looking at an other culture or just another person.
Step 1: look at yourself: what are my norms, values? What influence me?
Step 2: look at the other: what are his norms, values? What influence his behaviour?
Those 2 steps have double perspective. First look at yourself than at the other. and put away for opinion and look at te facts!
Step 3: take and give -> <- how are you going to deal with it. Take and give, but in a way that you hurt nobody or he stops talking in a way consistent with his common codes.
So always look at both sides of a story, don't judge before you here erverything. And find a way that you are both happy and can live whit it. It isn't normal if he needs to give up his norms and values and you nothing. It will work at the beginning but after sometime not anymore.
